We have been working on our place. We are building a Temezcal, and getting ready to have our desert retreat in May. We are also opening up a cafe and offering healing services to all the tourist who drive by our place to go to Real de Catorce. We are exploring the sacred land here and all is beauties. There are lots of caves, mines, hot springs, wild animals, farms, sacred desert plants, and peace here. Lots of culture, traditions, families. Overall, I feel a sense of happiness, and more simplicity. People seem happy, and no one has a cell phone or internet. At least where Iive. It is a really nice feeling to be connected to nature, and not so much in materialistic things. It is a great place to come and feel connected and disconnect from all the unnecessary. Almost everyone has a donkey, horse, or motorcycle here. The boys start riding at age 6. Ive seen up to 4 people on a motorcycle carrying their groceries and a dog. I could not believe it. It seems like things are more dangerous here. Everything around me looks like an accident waiting to happen. Amazingly, it works here! It is a reassuring thing. In America, I think things can appear safer and more rules are in place, but you miss out on all the fun and freedom.
Our house has a really amazing view of the mountains, and the sunsets and nights are magical. We also have a garden, and are growing cauliflower, onions, lettuce, cilantro, and herbs. We have some hammocks, and are looking forward to friends, family, and tourist coming to visit. There are so many places to explore here on the bikes so the blog will keep on. I dont know how often I will post since internet is not here but I will try my best. I miss you all and hope you all are having a lovely day and we send you our love and some magic from the desert.
We are really grateful for our new home, saft arrival here on the bikes, and all the new friends and people we have met. It has been truly an amazing experience. Each day is another blessing, another moment to live, take a photo, or share your story with someone, or just simply listen to someone else. Taking the time to live your life without so much anxiety, worries, concerns, desires, and stresses of others, is something I try to do and pray for others to do the same. At the same time challenges and new experiences at times uncomfortable, help us grow and heal. Adapting, opening up to new ideas, possibilities, customs, and cultures is really necessary when traveling, and also extremely rewarding. Right now wish me luck on my Spanish. Necessito muchas pac a aprender mi espaÑol.
